5 Opera Recommendations for Romantic Comedy Lovers

IMG_5459.JPG

Opera is a vast and varied genre. There is truly something for everyone. To demonstrate that, I’ll be tailoring my recommendations to the kinds of movie plots you generally enjoy in this blog post series! The operas listed are in a variety of languages, but all will be available with English subtitles.

So why try opera? Because it’s a fusion of all the art forms. Singing, orchestral music, poetry, dance, costume design, and theater. The stereotype from the Victorian era that opera is boring and elitist has got to go. Opera is palpable passion. It’s sheer beauty. It’s extreme feats of vocal ability. And it’s funny. It’s tragic. It’s romantic. It’s thrilling. I’m here to tell you that opera is all things, and that it could be your new favorite thing. So at least give it a try.
